Chats
Minnit offers a fully featured group chat that you can add to your event to increase engagement.
This page allows you to manage chatrooms for your event.
Managing chatrooms
To manage chatrooms, go to Manage Events, select your event and click on Chats.
Click on the drop-down to select or create a new chat.
Adding a chatroom to your event
Go to Manage Events in the sidebar, select your event and click on Edit Page and select the page you'd like to add the chatroom to.
To add a chatroom next to your livestream/video, you can drag the video and chat element in the sidebar into the editor.
You can click on the gear icon next to the chat element to change the chatroom, or create a new one.
To create a standalone chat, click on an empty block to add content and select Chat.
Click on "Select a chat..." and then click on an existing chat or "Create new chat" in the dropdown menu.
As the creator of a chat, you can establish its rules and ban users who refuse to follow them, or kick them if you wish to give a warning.
You can also promote trusted users to be moderators and managers, so they can moderate for you.
See the Chat Moderation page for more details on moderating chats.
Chatroom limits
The total number of simultaneous users that your chatroom can have is limited to the number of event registrants for your plan (paid plans only).
On the Free plan, the limit is 20 simultaneous users.
Simultaneous users refers to the number of devices or tabs connected at the same time.
In most cases, users will have the chat open on only one device or tab.
If a user signs out of a device or tab, this immediately frees up a connection.
There is no limit on the amount of page views, monthly active users or number of registered users.
